Closer To Home

Closer to Home is a surreal exploration game with a bleak, dreamlike atmosphere. The story begins as a high school boy wakes up in his bed. From there, the player explores his neighborhood and school, moving between dreams and waking life, with little distinction between what is real and what is imagined.

Gameplay focuses on non-linear exploration, conversations with various characters, and item collection. Some items are necessary for progression or grant new abilities, while others serve cosmetic purposes only. Additional gameplay elements include navigating puzzle-like environments and avoiding enemies that deplete the player’s health, although death doesn't end the game and sometimes serves as a gameplay mechanic.
