About

Bus Driver is a driving game with a difference. It doesn't rely on speed or encourage the player to smash things up. There's no racing or rallying aspect. In fact, it's exactly what its title suggests: A bus driving game.

Here, the focus is on driving safely, obeying the laws of the road, and getting passengers to their destinations. There are 12 different buses and 30 different routes (or 'missions'). They all take place within the same city but at different times of the day and in varying weather conditions. The player could be taking tired factory workers home as the sun is setting, ferrying holiday-makers to the ski-resort in brilliant sunshine, or escorting children to school in the early morning.

Points are awarded for correct signalling, stopping at red-lights and keeping to the scheduled timetable. Points are deducted for wanton destruction, driving on the wrong side of the road, braking too hard and various other infractions. But the game doesn't place many real restrictions on the player: they won't get heavily penalised if they're late to the stops. There is no timer that signals the end of the game. There's nothing to stop the player deviating from their route and going on a little sightseeing trip of their own.

Bus Driver offers a rather unique, sedate alternative to the usual vehicular gaming experience.
