About
Brigador is a single-player isometric vehicular combat and destruction game. The story is set in the city of Solo Nobre, where the ruling regime has collapsed and mercenaries are hired to seize control of its districts. The player takes the role of one of these hired guns, piloting tanks, mechs, or hovercraft to fulfill contracts that involve eliminating targets, suppressing resistance, or simply causing widespread destruction. Missions unfold in a city torn apart by occupation, betrayal, and rebellion, with the protagonist motivated less by ideology and more by profit and survival.
Gameplay centers on navigating urban battlefields and engaging in tactical combat. Each mission gives the player a vehicle outfitted with primary and secondary weapons, such as cannons, machine guns, or flamethrowers. Combat requires balancing direct firepower with positioning, since line of sight and cover affect engagements. Terrain and buildings are fully destructible, allowing players to carve new paths or deny enemies hiding places, but also attracting attention when entire blocks are leveled.
Enemy forces range from infantry squads and light patrols to heavily armored vehicles and fortified emplacements. Stealth and caution can sometimes be as effective as brute force, since raising alarms can bring in reinforcements. Players must constantly manage ammunition, armor, and environmental hazards while weighing the risks of pressing forward versus retreating to regroup.
Progression is tied to contracts and payout. Completing objectives rewards money that can be used to unlock new pilots and vehicles, each with distinct attributes and playstyles. Some pilots favor heavily armed mechs with high durability, while others prefer faster, lightly armored hovercraft that rely on mobility. Extracting safely after meeting objectives secures earnings, but continuing to fight and take on additional targets increases both profit and danger.
The Up-Armored Edition added refinements such as improved campaign structure, expanded tutorials, new vehicles and weapons, and adjustments to balance and performance.
