About

Bokura no Kazoku is a life simulation game where you see the evolution of a family during 35 years. The player follows the lives of a a newlywed couple in their 30s living in Koenji, the residential district of Tokyo. The game starts at the moment the couple has their first child and focuses on family life, especially raising children.

The game consists of fixed screen, pre-rendered environments with 3D models and a cinematic camera with a different viewpoint for each scene similar to the Boku no Natsuyasumi series by the same developer. Aside from the direct control there are many menu structures involved as the choices influence the different statistics for the children and decide how they grow up based on choosing a hobby, which school to go to and where to work. The family also needs to decide how to spend their money and those choices influence the childrens' development as well. It is not a complete sandbox simulation as the main traits of the children are determined and they all eventually find love and build their own family.

The game is meant to be played with multiple playthroughs and one of three scenarios can be chosen at the start of the game. Each scenario has a different number of kids and the third one has eight in total: four boys (Mokku, Genkotsu, Jiji and Pantsu) and four girls (Kyoro, Puu, Cocco and Nya).
