About

In ancient Babylon, King Nebuchadnezzar had the beautiful Hanging Gardens built as a gift for his wife, Amytis. The goddess, Ishtar, was pleased with the beauty of these splendid gardens. But, in time, King Nebuchadnezzar began concentrating on conquest and neglected the gardens. In anger, Ishtar sent a plague of pests and earthquakes upon Babylon, sending it into ruin and destroying the gardens. Can you rebuild the Hanging Gardens to their former glory?

Babylonia is a match-three game. You will use your mouse to swap two blooms to create a row of three or more of the same. The object is to clear all the tiles by making matches over them. Unpolished marble tiles must be matched twice. Solving the puzzles will get you coins. You use these coins to buy restored buildings and plant flowers to restore the gardens. This increases the joy meter of the garden. After you plant flowers, you will, at times, need to water them and use pest killer on them. If you keep the flowers healthy, Ishtar will be pleased and will reward you with new flower types or coins. If you neglect the flowers, Ishtar will be angered and will destroy one of your restorations.

As the game progresses, you power up the hammer. It powers up to three stages. Stage one can only destroy a bloom, no chains, tiles or boxes. Stage two can destroy one layer of chain or a bloom and one layer of tile. Stage three will destroy any bloom you click, everywhere it is found on the board, as well as all chains and tiles on or under these blooms.

As mentioned earlier, you have obstacles. Chains are removed by making a match with the chained bloom. Double chains must be matched twice. Boxes are removed by making a match in which one or more of the blooms in the match touch one or more boxes. Making a four bloom match creates a Rainbow Flower that acts as a wild card in matches. Making a five bloom match creates the Helix that, when clicked, clears all chains, tiles and blooms in a horizontal row. It will also clear boxes but not what is under them.

Coins can also be used in the shop to buy a larger chest as well as spells like bomb, fireball and chain lightning. After all the buildings are restored in that part of the gardens and the joy meter is full, that part of the gardens will be made into a wallpaper that you can set on Windows and you move on to the next garden section.
