About

Apache Air Assault is a helicopter flight simulation. The player takes control of an AH-64 combat helicopter and fulfills a variety of missions in three different scenarios. The settings include Eastern Europe, Africa and South America. Each scenario has a different storyline, revolving around the pilot and the gunner of each battleship.

The player's campaign missions usually consist of seek and destroy objectives, as well as the occasional air support deployments to protect allied vehicles and ground troops. The weapon load-out varies from helicopter to helicopter and includes guided hellfire missiles, hydra rockets, anti-air missiles and the built-in machine gun turret. The turret can be controlled either by an AI gunner, manually during flight or by switching to a black and white gun camera that includes an infrared view for better spotting of ground troops. Countermeasures against incoming missiles are available and deployed automatically. A great amount of decals can be unlocked by completing certain mission objectives or attempting higher difficulties. Four of these decals can be applied to each helicopter skin in the hangar.

In the multiplayer modes, players are able to fly Mil Mi-24 Hind and small helicopter drones as well. Various mission objectives exist that include races with aerial checkpoints and coop objectives, where one player controls a drone and marks target, while the other player flies the Apache and destroys the marked objects.
