About

Ankh 2: Tutankhamun no Nazo is an FMV adventure game set in modern-day Egypt. The player has been summoned by Professor Sakuji Yoshimura to assist with his research into Tutankhamun. The game uses a mixture of live-action and 3D-rendered graphics and is broken into two major sections. In the first chapter, the player explores Cairo, visiting museums and speaking to locals. After gathering enough information and hiring a guide, the game moves to the second chapter in which the player explores the crypt itself looking to unearth new information about the young pharaoh.

The game was produced in collaboration with Waseda University's Egypt studies department and the Egyptian tourism bureau, and is notable for including the first publicly-available 360-degree photo view of the inside of the real Tutankhamun's tomb.
