Aliens Go Home Run!

Aliens Go Home Run! combines the gameplay of Breakout, baseball and a shoot 'em up. The protagonist is Sally, a girl with a passion for baseball who hits a homerun so hard the ball crashes into an alien planet, creating a crater. In retaliation the aliens decide to attack Earth.

As Sally, you must clear every block on the screen with your baseball and bat while avoiding enemy fire. You get bonus points for every block you clear and every enemy you hit without letting the ball hit the ground. You can aim your hits towards the sides or straight up with the d-pad and fire projectiles with certain power-ups.

The game uses a Gradius-style power-up system. Items spawn after all blocks in a certain cluster are destroyed or from the sky when 1/3 or 2/3 of all the blocks in a level are destroyed, and must be picked up to change the active slot at the power-up gauge. By activating the gauge, you can heal yourself, set a bubble shield, spawn a temporary multiball or get 30 projectiles to use.

The player also has the ability to slide to get around quickly, and can slide through a majority of projectiles in the game. The game also records your best score and time for each stage.
