Algarna

Thousands of years ago the goddess Kyarura created a magical country called Saloon where all inhabitants had magical powers. However some people started misusing magic and eventually, order fell into disarray, and the country gradually fell into ruin. The goddess then stripped away all of the people's magical powers. Having lost their magical powers, the people realized their foolishness and cooperated, bringing prosperity back to the country of Saloon. One day, a series of mysterious incidents occurred in the country. All of them seemed to be controlled by someone's magic. The king sent a messenger to the goddess to uncover the truth behind the incidents, but the goddess had suddenly vanished. Then, a man appeared in the land of Saloon by the name of Wizard, and he used magic to create monsters one after another, trying to take control of all country. Luckily, he wasn't the only one who could use magic. the goddess, fearing that the country's order would be disrupted again, had left the magical powers of prince Fadis and princess Algarna intact. King summoned Algarna to the royal palace telling her that only her and her brother can defeat the Wizard.

Algarna is a side-scrolling action RPG. You fight monsters by bumping into them or attacking them with various spells. Health and Aura (magic) points regenerate when standing still.

The Sharp X68000 version offers improved graphics and sound. The menu interface has been simplified and the game's difficulty lowered. Algarna is right-handed in this version. There are also some minor differences in the terrain here and there.
