About

Airlift is a 1-player side-scrolling arcade game where the player controls a helicopter and rescues hostages. The helicopter can move in all directions, and can drop bombs if moving slowly, but will fire horizontally when moving faster. Numerous buildings dot the landscape, and these are filled with hostages. Tanks prowl along the ground, and these fire a short distance in the air. If their bombs hit a building it breaks and the hostages stream out. If the player lands near hostages they will get on the helicopter, and the player can return them to the starting point to safety. Care must be taken not to bomb or land on hostages. The helicopter can hold nine hostages at a time. As the player travels further from their base, they begin to encounter more dangerous enemy craft, including enemy helicopters and spacecraft.
