The first major DLC for Age of Wonders: Planetfall includes the following:
- New secret tech for player races: Heritor
- Two new campaigns revolving around the awoken Es'teq dynasty and the Heritors
- New neutral race: the Forgotten, Reapers
- New planet type: Tomb World
- Anomalous sites mechanic which involves specific markers on the map which involve multi-stage mini-stories with quests and decisions to be made, often with guards to be defeated, with rewards after each stage; the number of stages and strength of guards depend on the size of the site (small, medium, large)
- New map locations and pick-ups, including defensive emplacements which can aid the player owning the region they are found in
