Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition - Return of Rome

This expansion pack for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition consists of two sets of content.

In the regular game modes, it adds the Roman civilization, playable in skirmishes and online multiplayer.

When switching to the Return of Rome mode in the main menu, the game switches its normal medieval setting to a completely separate ruleset with 16 classical civilizations from the first game and the new 17th civilization, the Lac Viet. To differentiate it from the first game, Return of Rome includes quality-of-life improvements from the second, such as gates, formations, improved AI and spectator mode. Also included are the D3 game mode popularized by Vietnamese players of the original, three new and fully voiced campaigns (Sargon of Akkad, Pyrrhus of Epirus, Trajan), and 28 map templates.
