About

Ace Combat goes cyberpunk for the first time in this farewell to the PlayStation. The year is 2040, the skies of Strangereal are now flown by remote-controlled or AI-controlled UAVs; the cyperspace Electrosphere's operating system just released a new version; the Neo United Nations had recently formed SARF - a new air force for its peacekeeping effort; but most importantly, the cold war between 2 of the multi-national corporations on Usea has just gone hot. You play as Nemo - seemingly another Ace Combat silent protagonist - in a peacekeeping campaign with your SARF wingmen. Along the campaign, you can change your allegiances to other factions in the conflict, leading to 5 different paths in the story. Each will give you a more complete picture of this corporate conflict and the real instigator behind it.

Ace Combat 3: Electrosphere's iteration of the series' flight physics model takes some major deviations from the previous game, leaning more toward flight simulation in this entry. Your aircraft has much slower acceleration and deceleration, is significantly more stall-sensitive, has some retained momentum when turning a sharp pitch and pays a heavier price in velocity when climbing altitude. Support for the DualShock controller has also been greatly expanded in this entry, adding vibration feedback and some DualShock-exclusive camera controls. The D-pad and right stick on the DualShock controller rotate the camera in both cockpit view and tail view. The vibration feedback also has a gameplay function: By starting the vibration above your actual stall velocity threshold, it acts as your stall warning system. A feature is also added for all controllers: holding down the target button will activate follow camera that keeps track of your current target's relative position to your aircraft.
